The Holland Brothers are recording artists for Rough House Productions , a major movie/tv studio that also releases music. They play a style rooted in old school country and country blues. They have recorded music and appeared in HBO’s Righteous Gemstones and will be appearing in Apple TV’s show Dickenson later this year. Their music has also been used in Desert Saints (2002) starring Kiefer Sutherland, The World Made Straight (2015), and The Legacy of the Whitetail Deer Hunter (2018). Similar to the Piedmont songsters of old, the Holland Brothers, who achieved major label fame in the 1990’s with their Chapel Hill band Jennyanykind (Elektra), play a variety of styles and songs. Their sound is rooted in old-time country, bluegrass and country blues with aspects of vaudeville, ragtime and jazz that includes choice covers and inspired originals.
